Srila Gurudev had been very sick and wasn't able to be with us during Kartik. We were all at Govardhan and Gurudev was in his room for many days but couldn't come out. Finally, they said he would come, and we did this kirtan in expectation of his arrival.
We call this tune Vipralambha (Separation) because when Srila Gurudev asked Krsna das to sing Vipralambha, he sang this tune, as it evokes a mood of separation.
